Directions on how to charge a capacitor:

1. Positive and negative wires on battery disconnected.
2. Connect ground wire to negative terminal on capacitor. Resistor end screwed into positive terminal on capacitor (the power wire is not connected to positive terminal at this time only the resistor wire).
3. Positive and negative wires on battery reconnected.
4. Make sure capacitor's remote terminal wire is connected per manual diagram. Otherwise the display won't turn on and you won't be able to see the voltage (it will still charge it but you won't see the display).
5. Turn ignition on (turn vehicle fully on) to ensure enough power is present.
6. 02:21 Touch the positive wire to resistor wire (give it some time as there may be a delay). The capacitor screen will light up and show the voltage. Wait until it gets to its highest point or 12 volts.
7. 05:54 Disconnect resistor from positive terminal on capacitor. Then place the positive cable itself to the positive terminal on capacitor. While you're doing this the voltage will start dropping so try to do this in a timely manner.

Directions on how to discharge a capacitor:

1. Remove positive and negative from battery.
2. Disconnect positive and negative from capacitor.
3. Screw resistor ends into positive and negative terminals on capacitor. Can then put multimeter set to DC to positive and negative terminals on capacitor to watch the voltage go down.
