Honda has issued a recall for one of its lawn mowers due to a manufacturing defect in the camshafts of the engines. This defect can result in the sudden retraction of the starter rope when users attempt to pull it to start the mower, thereby posing a risk of injury. Owners of the affected mowers are advised to contact Honda for further instructions on remediation.

This recall applies to Honda HRN216 and HRX217K6 lawnmowers, as well as GCV170/200 G5B engines used in pressure washers. The affected lawn mowers, identifiable by their red and black coloring and the "HONDA" branding on the collection bag, are gas-powered and walk-behind models. The relevant model and serial numbers can be found on a label situated on the upper rear part of the mower deck. The recalled pressure washer engines, which are attached to frames from various original equipment manufacturers, have their serial numbers engraved on a flat area on the engine.
