The village of Ogidi Ijumu in central Nigeria's middlebelt region is home to Chief Nike Okundaye’s Art Gallery and the ancient craft of Adire, a technique for dying cloth that dates back centuries.

Nigeria is receiving international publicity for its dyed textiles. Michelle Obama has worn it to state dinners at the White House and Lupita N’yongo to Hollywood parties. And it’s been spotted in the pages of Vogue magazine thanks to Nigerian fashion designer Lanre Da Silva Ajayi who has collaborated with Chief Nike.

In this film they both open up to the world about one of Nigeria’s most ancient traditions. Ashionye Ogene reports from the village of Ogidi Ijumu and Nigeria’s fashion hub Lagos.
