Sets

Sets are very useful for organizing your model. Open and pin the Sets Tab under the selection tree for quick and easy access to this tool.

You can create “Selection Sets” by picking a group of objects and using the “Save Selection” command to create a new Set. You can name the set to make it easy to find this group of objects later.

By selecting a Set, you can use the Hide command to isolate or hide a selection set of objects and You can change the appearance of all the objects in any set.

Find Items

One of the most powerful tools You have is the “Find items” commands. You can search the model based on different categories such as items, elements, levels, locations, files, materials and systems.

After finding the objects You are looking for, You can save the results as a “Selection Set”.

Rather than saving the selection set it's better to save the search. You can then re-use the search sets to review this model and future revisions of the model. You can find very specific groups of objects using the search set functions.

The saved searches can be used in the quantification tool to get a count of all the different objects in a federated model.

You can organize the selection sets and search sets into folders to make it easier to group searches by discipline and to keep your workspace organized.
