The Rouge Electric Vehicle Center is a 500,000 sq/ft facility dedicated to the production of the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning pickup truck. We take a closer look at the machines, technology, and people who are building the future of the Ford F-Series in southeast Michigan.

Recently, Ford announced an additional $250 million in the region and 450 new jobs to the area. We feature some comments from Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who was on hand during our time there, talking about what the plant means to Michigan and the country.

We talk to Corey Williams, Plant Manager of the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, about how new tech helps make the truck assembly progress more collaborative. We also hear from Chris Skaggs, Assistant Plant Manager of the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, how some of the biggest robots in the world are doing the heavy lifting in Dearborn. Finally, we chat with Laura Dickerson, UAW Region 1A Director, about how the experience of the workforce is how Ford can bring a quality truck to market quickly.

We then talk to our own Associate Editor, Stefan Ogbac, who recently got to take a ride in the dual motor version of the F-150 Lighting at an event at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. What's he most looking forward to when driving the truck? We ask that and more.
