Pretty much any adaptation of a book is going to have to cut things, and there are always going to be fans who aren’t happy with the changes. However, there are some plot points in books that make us wonder what the author was thinking, and all but the book’s most devoted fans have to agree that it didn’t hurt to cut them from the movie. In other cases, things that work on the page just don’t translate well to film, as certain scenes are more disturbing when you show them rather than just writing about them.
