Growing up in suburban St. Louis, Alayna Jenkins quickly discovered the connection between human rights and the environment when she learned that nuclear waste from the Manhattan Project had leaked into the groundwater just miles from her home. At Harvard, Jenkins concentrated in Environmental Science and Public Policy. Jenkins is one of four future climate leaders profiled as part of a series about graduating seniors who hope to make an impact on climate change.
