The River Indie, an electric car made by the Bangalore-based company River Electric, has finally been released.

River Indie comes in three colors: blue, yellow, and red. The River Indie is available in two variants: utility and lifestyle. It features a quirky design with twin headlamps, a rectangular tail light, and a 6-inch digital instrument console. The scooter rides on 14-inch alloy wheels. This means you can take on rough roads with ease without sacrificing maneuverability. Built-in crash guards provide an extra layer of protection, while the all-digital instrumentation in the form of a colour LCD screen keeps you up-to-date on all your essential metrics.

The mid-mounted motor produces 6.7 kW of peak power and sends it to the rear wheel via a belt-drive system. With a top speed of 90 kmph, the River Indie is no slouch on the open road. And thanks to its 4 kWh fixed battery, it offers a true range of 150 km and a claimed real-world range of 120 km. It can be charged up to 100% within 5 hours. That means you can spend less time worrying about charging and more time enjoying the ride. The rider can switch between three riding modes: eco, ride, and rush.

The low starting price of Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) is getting a lot of attention from both fans of electric cars and people who are trying to save money. But don’t wait too long to make your purchase, as this limited-time offer won’t be around forever.

Pre-orders have been initiated, and deliveries will begin in August 2023.
