In May 2017, I attempted to hike the Lakeland Pilgrimage- a very circuitous loop covering many of the most stunning and often little-visited places in the Lake District. The route was created by fell runner and mountain lover John Fleetwood. It covers 275km and includes over 18,000m of ascent/descent, as well as several scrambles/rock climbs. I had 9 and a half days to complete my journey and unfortunately succumbed to a knee injury just 60km from the end. I will be back to finish the route later this summer though!
