Hope you enjoy this video we put together about my experience with my new pair of Danner Marine Expeditionary boots, plus my not-so-spectacular experience with La Sportiva boots and REI stores.

This video is not your typical review video, and my intent was to share with you guys my experience with wearing these boots every day. :)

Here's a little background on what happened with our local REI store: I bought a pair of La Sportiva boots from REI. After I was specifically told by an REI employee that I could use my La Sportiva boots as "every day boots" on any surface/condition, and I was never told or made aware of the fact that they will deny replacing my boots within the 1 year warranty if they were worn for purposes other than hiking only, not any hard surfaces like concrete, and not for every day use as I was told. I was told that all I needed to do was purchase the REI membership at the same time I bought the boots, and that would guarantee that I would be able to replace these boots within a year if I had any issues with it or in case of damages or if I simply was not satisfied with those boots. So when the time came that my boots started to break apart all over (and this was way before the 1 year mark), I took them back to REI to see what could be done, and they basically told me that since I didn't use them solely for hiking and on soft surfaces only, that they wouldn't be able to do anything and I was stuck with a pair of damaged and falling apart boots.
I wasn't disappointed because of the fact that I didn't get a replacement for the boots - I was disappointed because of the fact that I was told something by the salesperson which was not true, especially after I had told him that I was really struggling to find a good pair of boots that don't start to break down after a few months.

If you've been on the fence about purchasing Danner boots (or even La Sportiva boots), then I hope this video may help with your decision, or at least provide you with some entertainment. :)
