I readily experience vertigo, but this is a drone flight I wanted to do. I flew the drone over 200 feet down into the Rio Grande Gorge near Cerro, New Mexico, hoping to capture videos and photos worthy of the effort, and angst. Nearly all the video is reproduced at two to four times the recorded speed to prevent viewer somnolence. The rapid, jittery sequence before each still photo is the drone camera taking 21 photos to generate the panoramic photo that follows. This section of the gorge is extremely steep and rugged and there was little chance of recovering the drone if I made a piloting error.
