Jenny reviews the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe with an all-new ‘hybrid’ powertrain in its top highlander trim. Last year we had already done detailed reviews of the 2022 Santa Fe Petrol V6 and 2.2 L Diesel. So be sure to watch them as well for more general information about the Hyundai Santa Fe.

In this video, she focuses on the latest hybrid powertrain along with what other nice new additions have been added to the 2023 Santa Fe. New features include the special eco 19-inch alloys and the option to have a 6-seater with mid-row captain chairs instead of the usual 7-seater.

The internal combustion engine is a 1.6-litre petrol which is turbocharged. It’s paired with an electric motor and battery combo. They combine to give a total power output of 169 kW of power and 350 Nm of torque. It’s AWD and the transmission is a 6 Speed Auto.

It’s rare to have a 1.6 Litre turbo with a hybrid in a car of this size. Versus the Toyota Kluger Hybrid which has a 2.5 Litre petrol with a CVT, even the smaller category Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid and Subaru Forester Hybrid have larger non-turbo petrol engines.

The fuel tank is the same size across the Santa Fe range at 67 litres. So we find that in eco mode and with a full tank of fuel you get just under 1000km of driving range.
