In this episode, we check out what we got in our FINAL Video Games Monthly Box we'll have for some time as we have to say goodbye for now. But much like a certain Cyberdyne Systems T-800, we'll be back.

The team at video games monthly do an amazing job providing fun additions to your retro video game collection. They offer games for systems such as the original Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo, N64, Sega Genesis, Master System, Xbox, and more. I have been subscribed to the $ 34.99-a-month plan which nets me three total games. For the month of February 2024, I definitely received some titles that were, well they weren't in my collection and for a short time at least, are now in my collection.

What we got:
Super Nintendo
The Flintstones (Loose)
Value: $17

Nintendo Gamecube
Narnia: The Lion, The Witch & the Wardrobe (CIB)
Value: $7

Nintendo Wii
Megamind: Mega Team Unite (CIB)
Value: $5

Super Famicom
P-Man (Prehistorik Man)
Value: $25

Total Value: $54

So what do I think about the games we got this month? Well, they definitely had value as far as cost, but I don't know that these are games that I necessarily would have picked up and played for myself. I used the Flintstones game to help generate the thumbnail for this video, and man the hit detection boxes on that thing are just terrible. Trying to jump up on ledges is truly painful. I know this is an Ocean game, but man this thing is bad.

I've never been a fan of the Narnia series, I know my daughter and my wife both love it though. As such I never have seen the movies and I've never played any of the games. As such I will probably either give the GameCube game to my daughter so she can play it on her Wii or I will try to flip it. This is definitely not staying in the collection now.

I am not a fan of Wil Ferrell, I think he is unfunny. And by that I mean he makes others around him who are funny overall less funny. A perfect example is John C Reilly, who is much more entertaining when he is separated from Wil Ferrell. One exception to this rule for me was Megamind, I think it perfectly played into what an absolute dope Wil Ferrell is. His comedy is best suited for a younger audience, and Megamind was a perfect example of that. I may try this one for the Wii, but again it may wind up in the swap heap.

Finally, we have P-Man, or Prehistorik man for the Super Famicom. I've never heard of it, never played it, so I'm at least going to give it a try. At $25, it's the most valuable game that we got this month, so I'm at least going to give it a shot. The cool thing is I can now use my Nestoration Super Famicom mod kit for the Super NES Jr that I developed, 3D print, and sell so at least the game will look good because they'll be playing through my HD Retrovision cables and Voultar's RGB mod.

I do want to take a second and thank the boys at Video Games Monthly. The reason this is my last box from them for a while is, as many of you know, I recently lost my job. As such I have to cut expenses and this is one expense that is easily cut. When I let VGM know their first reaction was to make sure I was okay. I was very touched by their kindness and compassion and really appreciate their friendship. Even though I have taken them to task from time to time over the cleanliness of their games, they're good people and I will be back with them as soon as I'm back on my feet.

What did you think of this month's box? Are there any of these games that you've played that you like? Are any of these games that you've never played that you'd like to see? Let me know in the comment section.
