Once upon a time, it was thought that there could be no greater challenge to the friendly neighborhood Spider-man than the alien Symbiote from space and former outfit, the Black symbiote. It had bonded with another person who had a beef with the wall-crawler and jumped ahead in the line of web-head haters. Then a serial killer and a leftover bit of the Black symbiote said ‘Hold my beer.’ The red and black Symbiote we’ve come to know as red symbiote has taken the Black symbiote formula and cranked it up to 11 and now we’ll see the two go toe to toe in the upcoming Sony Movie and the original clingy buddy from outer space has his hands full. Not only does this new menace come with the same sets of powers only more so, but there’s also been a history of people poking around with the killer goo to try and find a way to get the power without the whole ‘being taken over’ side effects. Instead, they just keep cranking up his power, making an already hard-to-stop villain even harder to stop. From acolytes of the creator of these creatures, a powerful being almost as old as the universe who happens to think Celestials are youngin’s that need to get off his lawn, to people who have taken the words of Cthon in his tomb the Darkhold as if that wasn’t going to make things tragically worse.
