Around the world, international events are constantly in the headlines, whether its the struggles of our Muslims brothers in sisters in Afghanistan, Palestine or China. This lecture will help us better understand how we can engage with international affairs right here at home.

Imam Hasib Noor hails from Afghan heritage, grew up in the US and studied at the College of Islamic Law in the University of Madinah. He pursued his studies in the City of the Prophet (SAW) for over over a decade under the tutelage of over 50 scholars specializing in Fiqh, Fatwa, Hadith, Tafsir, History, Sirah and the Islamic Sciences. He is the Founder and teaches at The Legacy Institute, an education & research institution for Islamic studies. He is also an instructor with AlMaghrib Institute. He is among the founders of Faith a global Muslim platform for creating community spaces that provides welcoming spaces for connecting with relevant Islam & practical spirituality. Faith community spaces have been founded in London, Austin, Ottawa, New York City, & San Diego.

The I.LEAD conference is one of the remarkable annual events held by the United Muslim Organizations in Ottawa and Gatineau (UMO-OG) with its 12 member mosques in the National Capital Region. The conference target audience is the Muslim community youth and the public in general. It showcases a number of prominent scholars and influential speakers, besides the bazaar and its exceptional shopping experience.
