We wanted to learn about the invisible dangers lurking on items we touch every day. So, we visited Rachel Hearne, microbiologist and self-professed lab nerd at Roper St. Francis Healthcare. She swabbed a phone case, keyboard and a key fob, and then incubated the germs to see what we had growing.
