Kicking off our new Gone But Not Forgotten series with the Maruti Suzuki Zen , the first (sort of) hot hatch India got. Launched in 1993 and on sale for over two decades the Zen had a fantastic engine, slick gearbox, enthusiastic handling and looked fantastic for its time. Sirish Chandran gets behind the wheel of his own 1997 Zen and takes a walk down memory lane. We also run through the history of the Zen and all its variants including the ugly Classic, the 2-door Carbon and Steel and the car that killed off the badge, the Zen Estilo .
Gone But Not Forgotten is going to be regular series, dropping on the second Thursday of every month. Let us know what you think of the series, drop it in the comments below and also we will love to hear about your own Zen experiences. And if you have any cool cars we should feature do get in touch with us
