Your friends here at The Dashcam Store with a quick video on how to install a BlackVue dashcam using BlackVue's new Power Magic EZ.

With BlackVue’s Power Magic EZ, you’re able to bypass the tedium of hard-wiring your dashcam at the fuse box. No need to locate a constant or switched power source or mess with the fuse box. No need to search for a suitable ground point. Instead you’ll be able to easily provide power to your dashcam through your OBD, or On-Board Diagnostic port.

The Power Magic EZ retains the sleek aesthetic of a hard-wired dashcam but, as mentioned it doesn’t require any special wiring. All you have to do is plug the Power Magic EZ into your vehicle’s OBDII port and just like that you’ve created access to a convenient power source for your dashcam, along with the same timer and safety features found on the normal Power Magic Pro.

You will set the dip switches the same way we suggest with the Power Magic Pro. Bring your first switch to OFF, and the second to ON for a 12V setting, then set 3,4 and 5 to ON as well, which sets the timer to infinity, meaning it will always be on, as long as the battery voltage is above 12.0v.

Please note that On/Off switch only affects the parking mode feature. Your EZ will still send power to the camera while your engine is running. By turning off the switch on the Power Magic EZ, you're disabling parking mode, but the dashcam will still turn on and off automatically with the vehicle's engine.
