This majestic number was originally featured in the movie manamagal and sung with elan by Classical Carnatic music exponent Dr. ML Vasanthakumari and veteran singer Smt. P. Leela. Based in raga Simhendramadhyamam, the song effortlessly traverses mohanam, durbar and hindolam in the mind-boggling back and forth swara exchanges between MLV and P Leela before circling back to the end kuraippu and muthaippu in Simhendramadhyamam. This song was rendered live in a single take with Srimathumitha singing the portions of both MLV and P Leela, a remarkable feat for any vocalist.
