Cumberland County sees population jump; Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library may go statewide

Some Pennsylvania senior citizens are taking issue with comments Donald Trump made recently about cutting Medicare and Social Security. The two Republicans running for state attorney general have squared off in a debate. Just six percent of teachers in Pennsylvania are people of color, compared to nearly 40 of all students.  So, educators in the southwestern part of the state are strategizing on how to break the trend. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library - which sends free books to young children - could go statewide. Pennsylvania's population has dropped by 34,000 over a three-year period. But several Central Pennsylvania counties experienced small population growth over that span. Penn State’s LION Mobile Clinic is planning to expand its fleet this summer and is working to connect with other mobile clinics in the state. The moves come as pharmacies and medical clinics close across the commonwealth. Organizers say they’re only part of the solution to declining health care access
