In this interview with radio disc jockey Jack Ellsworth conducted at the Columbia Records studio in New York City on July 11, 1949, Frank Sinatra discusses, among other things, the Columbia recordings he made the evening before, the difficulty in finding good songs to record, his upcoming LIGHT UP TIME radio show and his recently completed MGM film ON THE TOWN. He also names some of his favorite recording artists, including Doris Day. The interview was recorded from a somewhat scratchy 78 RPM transcription record in the Ric Ross Frank Sinatra collection.

An interesting side note: the daytime radio show that Sinatra discusses eventually became a reality four years later when his TO BE PERFECTLY FRANK radio show went on the air in Los Angeles.

Columbia songs discussed from the prior evening's recording session:

BYE BYE BABY
IT ALL DEPENDS ON YOU
DON'T CRY JOE
