Repair and Rescue of my STIHL FS38 Line Trimmer.

I bought this 2nd hand 2 years ago, not working and in unknown condition and I was told it hasn't started in a few years. I was never able to get it running reliably... until now :)

You can follow this step-by-step process to diagnose or repair most small engine garden equipment by checking airflow, fuel and spark.

While going through it I discovered that the air filter, spark plug and carb all appeared to be in great condition.

If you are attempting this yourself, you should avoid using starting fluid or carby cleaner to try and start the engine like I did. A mix of petrol and 2-stroke oil poured into the throttle is always the best.

With a 27.2cc 2 stroke engine and weighing only 4.1Kg this is a great trimmer for home use.

I have recently picked up a new project mower, and will have a new video out soon.
