For poor people of Antep, life is far from mystery, excitement, splendor and subtle emotions. There is only one miracle in their lives: cinema. The owner of the largest cinema hall in Antep is Nakip Ali (Kadir Inanir). He is a veteran of the War of Independence and is a cheerful but quick-tempered man aged fifty-five. People from Antep sometimes find his behavior strange, but they still like it. His most beloved is the eleven-year-old Umit (Batuhan Levent), Umit's life is colored by the extraordinary heroes in Nakip Ali's cinema. His mother is worried about the future of the child and wants him to give up this love of cinema and read.
But how can anyone give up such an entertainment?.. For Umit, for his mother, for the neighbor girl he is madly in love with, for Smiles, for tall Mehmet and his close friend dwarf Akif, for the reed girl Fairy and handsome Zuhtu who are in love with Nakip Ali... Cinema is a Miracle for everyone, but not everyone...
