Dr. Emily Wilson is a MacArthur and Guggenheim Fellow, a classical studies professor at the University of Pennsylvania, and the first woman to translate Homer’s "The Odyssey" into English. In this episode of "The Civil Discourse," Wilson and Host Paula Marantz Cohen explore the depths of translation and social themes in Homer’s masterpiece, as well as the way in which the text takes on new meaning in the face of evolving social standards.
