The 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime is Toyota's swing at the electric vehicle segment with it's first plug-in SUV or PHEV. You can drive it on battery power alone for up to 42 miles Toyota claims. I tested this.
It's also suprisingly quick. Much moreseo than it should be given the estimated 40 MPG.

It's very much indistinguishable from the 'normal' RAV4 in the way it looks and feels. The materials are typical Toyota, which is to say they are very good. The fit and finish is top notch. It has loads of space. I easily fit in 4 wheels and I even managed to put a 9' exhaust system in it.

Speaking of exahust systems - it's not very loud. In fact, it's incredibly quiet. In EV only mode all you can really hear is a bit of wind and road noise. Impressive. It's powered by a 2.5L Atkinson cylce 4 cylinder enging and an electric motor at the front, and another at the rear. This makes it an AWD vehicle. Total combined output is 302hp.
