The Liberals are promising to create a 15-million dollar Tenant Protection Fund.

It would provide money to legal aid organizations to help defend renters against unfair payment hikes and renovictions.

The government says it will also introduce a Renters' Bill of Rights and amend the Canadian Mortgage Charter so tenants get credit for paying their rent on time by having their rental history count toward their credit score.
