Sandra Penny McCallum shares her expat story and insights to her words as we set her poem "Ode to the Algarve" to video and music. Her book "Poets, Plato and Pussycats" is the first to be published and she has another book on the way.

She shares her path to Portugal story and describes how the algarve inspired her to finally write and publish a book of poetry while living in the Algarve. She explains the inspiration behind some of her work and life in the Algarve and we chat about our love of Portugal.

We have fun (and wine) as I interview Sandy. After the second interview, she reads a poem to part of our "expat tribe" on a Portuguese Terrace. Then of course there I share out-takes at the end of the video.

Sandy is still working on a YouTube Channel but you can link to her FB page by opening up FB and typing in @SandyAussieAuthor and click on "Page".

You can buy her book on Amazon and we've put the link on her FB page (trying to get you to eventually connect and see her other books as well).

Learn about the apps you may need for trains (high-speed train Alpha Pendular), communication, travel, and more. I give an ideal itinerary for scouting out where to live or visit to maximize your time and money hitting Lisbon, Porto, and the Algarve.

A good overview covering city pairs and how to save money by combining flights, trains, and rental cars. Porto and Faro are fabulous city pairs.

Make sure to get a rental car with a toll pass included with auto-billing (and free access to Spain if you’ll be near the border). Don’t get the rental cars that charge exorbitant fees for these standard items. Check the fine print of the rental car before you book.
