The Michigan mountain bike race series (Championship Points Series) started a Master's division of the Elite class last year. Only two races took place with that classification last year, and I participated in only one of the events and regretted not at least seeing where I'd land in that class (I raced Expert age group).
So, with my lone mountain bike race in the CPS this year taking place at Yankee Springs, I felt like it was a good opportunity to not only test my legs, but measure my fitness against the fastest of the fast (older) riders. This race is a TT, so it may not be a truly accurate way to measure up against a group (the flow is quite a bit different racing as a group), but it showed me that, all out, I'm not where I need to be to place a the top, but I'm not far off, either. The winning time was 1:29 and change, with 2nd-4th fitting in between there and 1:33 and change where I finished.
The YSTT is the second of three races in four weeks this fall. My third, the Barry Roubaix, is a gravel road race which I don't plan on recording, so this will be my last race video until Iceman.

Per usual, this video was shot using a GoPro Hero Session mounted on the handlebar of my Specialized SWORKS Epic FS.
