Mare of Easttown episode 2 just debuted on HBO and HBO Max. Mare investigates the crime scenes where Erin’s body was discovered. She doesn’t find much evidence initially, as it looks like the body was dumped there. She goes to tell her father Kenny who is devastated at the news.

With pressure mounting the county has sent a detective named Colin Zabel to assist the Easttown police department. They discover the video of the fight in the woods, and bring in Brianna Delrasso for assault. In her interview Mare crosses a line, and Brianna reveals that her son Kevin killed herself. We also meet Drew’s mother Carrie, who is filing for full custody now that she’s clean and sober.

There were a couple of big twists and cliffhangers in episode 2. Erin’s father Kenny became convinced her ex was responsible for her death, so he went after him and shot him. Her best friend Jodi also revealed a secret that Erin had told her. She believes that DJ is not Dylan’s son, and that the real father might be Frank Sheehan.

Easttown now has two unsolved crimes involving young women, and no solid suspects.
