A little over a year ago I did a comprehensive review of the Garmin Dash Cam Mini:    • Garmin Dash Cam Mini Owner's Review   Everyone still wants to know if Garmin ever fixed the overheating issue, and the answer is NO, but it's more complicated than that, so I figured I should do a follow-up video to talk about what I've learned in the year that I've been using this dash cam.

The bottom line is that the firmware updates have NOT fixed the overheating, but at least Garmin added an impact-only parking mode (which still overheats). However, over the winter when it was cold it did not overheat at all, but on the first warm 82º day in March it did.

Despite that, the camera works flawlessly as long as Parking Mode is turned off, and for that reason I still recommend this camera. The small size makes up for the lack of a usable parking mode, at least for me. I'd rather have a tiny, invisible dash cam that doesn't have parking mode, than have a big ugly dash cam that does.
