Installing a deadbolt lock is easier than you may think. Leah from See Jane Drill shows you how you can DIY with a deadbolt installation kit.

1) Locate your deadbolt 6-12 inches above the doorknob, and attach the jig. Secure the jig in place by drilling pilot holes, then drilling in screws.
2) Insert a 1 inch hole drilling bit into the jig to cut the latch
3) Bore a hole in the jam ensuring that the hole lines up exactly with the latch.
4) Place a jig into the latch slot to help determine where to drill on the jam.
5) Slide the latch into the hole you drilled on the door
6) Gently snap on the inside and the outside plate, making sure they line up correctly with the latch.
7) Install the latch plate
