An Arizona grand jury indicted 18 people for their roles in an attempt to overturn Donald Trump’s loss to Joe Biden in the 2020 election. The indictment, released on April 24, features the names of former president’s chief of staff Mark Meadows and lawyer Rudy Giuliani. The charges include fraud, forgery and conspiracy, three classes of felony that with a conviction could have sentences upto 12 years in prison.
The indictment names 11 Republicans and redacts the names of seven others including Giuliani and Meadows. They are charged with submitting a document to Congress falsely declaring that Trump won Arizona in 2020.
