"Shono Monajat" is a beautiful poem of supplication to God Almighty. This song is originally written and composed by the Great Luminary of Bangla, Kazi Nazrul Islam(1899-1976). The song is a 'munajat/dua/prayer' for the simple blessings of life. The servant asks Allah for the abundance of food, drink, and good companions. It has a majestic colour of showing a poet's vulnerability in the presence of God. Since Nazrul's most of the works have a touch of Arabian Music, this song has a few uses of Iranian/Arabian Maqams in the voice of Ishrak Hussain. A blend of eastern and western melody. Ishrak's co-artist Yusuf rendered with a bold yet appealing voice works in this song to enrich this piece greatly.
