Urban innovation in action at DuPont Circus, Washington D.C.

An interactive and visible way to get citizens involved in the sustainability intent of one of the world's most important cities.

This inaugural install marked Pavegen's first-ever project in the United States. Located close to the White House, this Federal Government installation brings urban innovation to a crossing at Dupont Circle, Washington D.C.

Pavegen Kinetic Pavements are seen here providing the energy for LED lights that come on at night and form a beautiful street furniture feature for this remarkable City. Data from the energy floor system is used to inform the federal government of the energy generated by the technology. The data is then used to educate city dwellers and workers about the impact of renewables and the important role every individual has in living more sustainable lives. We call this Citizen Impact, Powered by Pavegen.
