The ARIYA is a crossover EV or electric vehicle that competes in the heart of the EV marketplace. Rivals include the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Genesis GV70 EV, Lexus RZ, Mercedes-Benz EQB, Tesla Model Y, and Volvo XC40 Recharge.

Now 70 Large gets you the top-of-the-line Platinum+ eFORCE model. This is the loaded one you’re looking at, the biggest 87kWh battery for up to 482 km of range in ideal conditions. The AWD model here has twin electric motors and it’s charged using a standard CCS quick charge port. I’ll mention also that there is $50,000-ish front-drive ARIYA, too, and it has a much smaller – sharter-range – 63 kWh battery.

An electric motor at each end turns the wheels, but Nissan’s software here allocates independent brake control at each wheel to customize the application of power. As for the battery, it’s located at the base of the chassis, under the floor, in the middle of the ARIYA.
