Classical music is scientifically beneficial for the brain.
Robert Alexander Schumann was a leading composer of German Romantic music.
June 8, 1810 - June 30, 1856 He originally studied law,
but his passion for music led him down a different path
When his dreams of becoming a pianist were thwarted by a broken finger, he decided to devote himself to composition.
And his marriage to Clara Bick was said to be his musical inspirational partner.
His musical foundation was heavily inspired by literature,
and at a gathering of friends as a young man, he was said to have expressed the personalities of his friends in sound, to the point of making them laugh.
The latter part of Schumann's life was marked by mental anguish: from 1853 he suffered from mercury poisoning and manic depression with delusions,
In 1854, after an attempted suicide, he committed himself to the Endenich Asylum in Bonn,
He was unable to overcome his psychotic depression and died of pneumonia at the young age of 46. The Endenich Sanatorium is now a memorial to Schumann.
