Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is FINALLY open at Disneyland Resort in California and we were there bright and early on opening day to experience the madness and take our chances at acquiring a boarding pass for this awesome new ride.

We left our house around 4:30am to arrive at Disneyland at 5:20. Parking was a breeze and security lines took no time at all. We were actually pretty shocked at how smooth everything was. The reason we showed up so early before the park opened is that no one really knew when the security lines and gates would open and didn't want to be stuck outside at 8am. In order to get a boarding pass for Rise of the Resistance, you need to be inside Disneyland Park with your park ticket scanned by 8am. Once 8am hits (or whenever the park opens that day), you need to be logged on to the Disneyland app with your ticket linked in order to try to get a boarding pass to enter the virtual queue. If you prefer to do things the old fashioned way, there are also stations set up around the park that hand out hard copies of the boarding passes. On opening day the boarding passes were completely sold out by 8:03am which is just insane. We got very lucky and got into boarding group 35!! Others around us were not as lucky, so it is truly a lottery system and really the luck of the draw.

After securing boarding passes, we made our way to Galaxy's Edge to try some of the new drinks and food that debuted January 17th, 2020 - here is the stuff we tried:

* Toydaria Swirl: Green milk, chili swirl, and mango jellies - $8.79

* Gamma Garlic Puffed Cheese Chips: white cheddar and Parmesan cheese - $6.00

* Black Spire Hot Chocolate: brown sugar buttercream shimmer whipped cream - $3.79

All of the new food and drink items were very delicious, although Peter didn't end up loving the Toydaria Swirl as much as Kitra did. We ran into some Youtubers we enjoy, including The Dan-o Channel, Adam The Woo, and Best Life & Beyond. We finally boarded our boarding group around 1pm and... oh man this the BEST RIDE EVER!
