Dr Sumeet Mhasker, a professor at OP Jindal Global University, is a labour sociologist and public policy scholar. He has been vocal about Maratha reservations, class and caste movements.

In this episode of What’s Your Ism, Dr Mhasker spoke to The News Minute’s Sudipto Mondal about caste, reservations, Ambedkarism and political and socio-cultural Hindutva.

The professor said: “The government is not hiring people on a permanent basis but on contractual basis, which means the wages are extremely low and the conditions are exploitative. It is a class question.”
