Since 2008, Electric Forest has been gaining momentum as one of the country’s “Must Attend” festivals. Rather than packing 100,000 to the infield of a race track or polo field, the forest draws a considerably smaller crowd focusing on the people, to bring together an amazing gathering of dance music fans. Deep inside Michigan’s National Forest, 35,000 forest family members unite for four days of magic.

EF has continuously grown each year and this year tickets sold out at a record of two weeks from the date they went on sale before any performers were even announced. Just yesterday thousands of eager attendees were given the initial lineup and unlike the usual social media blast with all the names located in one place, the organizers have trusted the task to it’s ticket holders.
Known for showcasing a mix of roots, rock and jam-style acts alongside some of dance music’s most talented performers, Electric Forest 2016 has again delivered a diverse lineup of over 100 established and emerging artists performing across 7 breathtaking stages.

For the 6th year in a row, Electric Forest welcomes back fan favorite The String Cheese Incident, plus other heavyweights headliners Bassnectar, Major Lazer, Adventure Club, and Fetty Wap. Other acts include: GRiZ, Porter Robinson (Live), Duke Dumont, Flosstradamus, Baauer, and Gorgon City (Live).
EF2016’s Lineup Invitations, each revealing one or more artists on this summer’s eagerly awaited lineup, were mailed to a handful of randomly selected ticket-holders. With mail deliveries throughout the day, new artists were continually shared on social media with the hashtag #EF2016Reveal, creating waves of excitement and a level of interaction between a festival and it’s fans that has never been seen before.The 2016 Electric Forest music festival will be held in Rothbury, Michigan June 23 – 26. Today, organizers have revealed more than 25 additional acts heading to Double JJ Ranch as well as details of the Curated Event Series.

Among those added to the lineup were STS9’s “Axe The Cables” acoustic set, Futuristic, Getter, Liquid Stranger, Prof, Styles&Complete and The White Buffalo, plus several others. They join previously confirmed acts such as The String Cheese Incident, the Disco Biscuits, STS9, Bassnectar, Greensky Bluegrass, The New Mastersounds, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Dumpstaphunk and many more diverse artists.

In addition to the newly confirmed performances, organizers also revealed the Curated Event Series lineup. Here’s how the announcement described the series, “Each year Electric Forest collaborates with fellow musical tastemakers from around the globe to take part in curating the lineup and vibe of a distinct stage each night, creating unique musical experiences within the festival itself.” Below are descriptions of each night’s Curated Event, headed by EF partners Anjunadeep, BASSRUSH, Night Bass, Soul Clap and All Good Records.

Anjunadeep

Featuring Bonobo (DJ set), Dusky, Lane 8, Moon Boots, Way Out West (LIVE), Cubicolor, Yotto

London-based label imprint Anjunadeep brings its hand-pick selection of deep house sounds to Triploee Stage for this Electric Forest debut. Founded in 2005 by DJ trio Above & Beyond, Anjunadeep has since become one of the world’s most respected electronic music imprints.

BASSRUSH

BASSRUSH returns to Electric Forest’s Tripolee Stage for the third year in a row to showcase a variety of bass music styles and artists. Since the ’90s, Bassrush has evolved from its strictly drum & bass roots to include dubstep and other bass-oriented genres. The goal of Bassrush is to provide a platform to showcase bass music the way it should be experienced: with massive sound and full-scale production.

Night Bass

Boston, Massachusetts DJ and production duo Soul Clap are known for pushing new boundaries and musically defying time and space. Soul Clap brings its mission to change the world one dance floor at a time to EF2016’s Forest Stage.
