Hi everybody welcome back!
In this episode I am building a #slidingdoor. These are lightweight and made from a thin sheet of osb but #plywood is also possible.
These are setup so they can be put between a ceiling and floor. Here in this office space there is a rail on the wall and floor.
We are again in the factory hall which was converted to various work spaces and offices. I showed earlier how we set up a big space here and a cool little set of stairs.
The reason why the sliding doors are in place here is because of budget and modularity. All the spaces have the same door opening but all the frames and concrete floor are different. And these sliding doors are very forgiving with discrepancies.
This is an old building with an old concrete slab.
The luxury of working on a factory floor is the space and the ability to easily place bigger machines like a table saw saves quite some time and effort.
First the base sheet gets sawn to size and then small rips will be glued into place.
On the backside a bit of lumber stock gets glued on. This is for stiffness.
The wheels and track are from the german brand #Hettich, this is a decent product and the load on the hardware is good, so a heavier door would have also worked.
The wheels are adjustable in height, which is great and 4 wheels are placed on the doors.
Then the tracks are installed. And the door will be in place.
I hope this helps you with a project, and thanks for watching this small video!
