The late Jack Bogle's number 1 goal by creating the Vanguard Group was to give the people (like you and me) a strategy for investing that was both simple, low-cost and successful over the long term.

He wanted us to keep the earnings we made, rather than giving it all back to the Wall Street sharks who charge high fees for their (usually) mediocre performance and advice.
