Bruno Guimarães' strike proved the difference as Newcastle United claimed an important 1-0 away win against Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday.
After a goalless first-half at Craven Cottage, with the Magpies unable to record a shot on target in the opening 45 minutes, Fabian Schär looked to have broken the deadlock for the visitors after guiding the ball home from a tight angle but the goal was disallowed following a VAR review, with Dan Burn adjudged to push Calvin Bassey in the build-up.
Guimarães, however, sent United ahead in the final stages on his 100th club appearance, reacting to Harvey Barnes' cleared cross before firing a first-time effort beyond Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno to, ultimately, record a valuable three points in the capital.
