Maggie and Sydney have had their fair share of obstacles when it comes to them being together. We see Maggie learn about Sydney’s past and see her determination to be there for her throughout her denial of liking women. Sydney stresses to Maggie that she wouldn’t understand what it's like to have gone through what she has and therefore wants to proceed with her engagement to Hershel.

Despite their hurdles, we see Dr Lin and Dr Katz eventually declare their love for each other and admit that they are both willing to give up everything to be together.
