👋 In todays review we are checking out the all new and fully electric 2023 Ford F150 Lightning! Ford has reused the Lightning name and created this powerful and still very capable full size F150! This is the 2023 Ford F150 Lightning Lariat which is fully loaded even features the extended range battery pack! For the all new fully electric 2023 Ford Lightning there are several trim levels to choose from and two different battery packs! The Ford Lightning start around $42K and goes up from there!!
The exterior on this 2023 Ford Lightning Lariat looks very identical to the gasoline version with some tweaks here and there! The grill is more closed off as it doesn't need as much air flow, but still has plenty of cutouts in the front end to provide cooling to the necessary components! The rest of the front end is very similar! The biggest difference is the fact that underneath the hood is the fronk! Ford actually calls this the fronk space and it seems very usable especially for a pickup!
The sides and rear of this 2023 Ford F150 Lightning is very identical again with a few differences including the regenerative braking, a charge port behind the side logo and even a light on the fixed running board! The bed space is also virtually identical with the addition of more charging ports to charge electronics or tools!
The interior on this 2023 Ford F150 Lightning Lariat is what you would expect from a Lariat trim level from Ford! This model gets the largest screen I've seen Ford offer!!! The 15.5'' screen has a ton of usable information to go through and I love the layout! It's again pretty similar to the gasoline version, minus the larger screen, but everything else is the same!
The driving experience for this all new fully electric Ford is insane! This is by far the quickest F150 now available, at least getting up to speed and it's impressive for the weight! It's very quiet as you would expect from an electric vehicle and you can even pipe in some sound just to have that addition! It drives just like the gasoline version, but with the lower center of gravity from the batter pack, it supposedly handles better! I wasn't able to full test that with this test drive, but it would make sense!
Overall if you are an electric vehicle type of person and you still want the capabilities of the gasoline version for the 2023 Ford F150, this is a great option and it doesn't sacrifice too much being battery powered!
