Landing the Ikarus C42 at Bargrug near Dalbeattie. This private strip is owned by Tom Whitty and is about 1 mile west of Falgunzeon airstrip which is the home of Dumfries and Galloway Gliding club. It is approx 250m long. Tom turned the de-forested woodland into this great little private strip pretty much with his bare hands! Many thanks to Tom for letting me land there and thanks to Peter Jackson of Glenswinton airstrip for arranging this with Tom. Note the wind direction was a tailwind but this direction (facing north) is uphill. The wind speed had strengthened since the PPR brief to about 8-10kts and this was on the verge of making a downhill into wind landing the better option. The first landing was a touch and go due to landing a bit too deep.Dropped pin
