Nakia helps Shuri and Riri Williams escape Namor's wrath by sacrificing a Talokanil guard. In revenge, Namor unleashes a devastating flood on Wakanda, sparking a fierce battle. He then effortlessly destroys the Wakandan Air Guard and floods the Wakandan throne room where Queen Ramonda and Riri are located.

Queen Ramonda bravely swims to Riri and brings her to the surface, giving up her own life in the process. Shuri cries over her mother’s death while Namor tells her that she is the new queen now and warns her that he will return with his entire army to finish the job. The surviving Wakandans retreat to the mountains, hoping to find safety there.
