The 2021 Maserati Levante SQ4 GranSport is breathtakingly beautiful, offers tremendous luxury features, and drives like a true sport car. Today, we take a drive down to beautiful San Diego, California to visit Maserati of San Diego. With an insane collection of high spec Maseratis, we pulled this very special Levante SQ4 GranSport out of the showroom for a full review.

First we go through the exterior, which bring a few changes for the 2021 model. Mainly a minor facelift up front and a few design changes in the rear. The magic in the design is in the options. Choosing the correct wheels, the painted brakes, and the right exterior color, and you transform your Maserati from an already impressive SUV to an absolute work of art. The front end offers active shutters, thin LEDs, and functional ventilation. The side profile looks like a cat ready to pounce. The rear end is sculpted so subtly, yet conveys a message of passion in racing.

The interior has no shortage of Maserati Tridents, which I love. This class of SUV often offers overstyled dashboards and complex infotainment systems. The Maserati Levante’s interior, although mostly unchanged, offers a simple and impactful space. Carbon fiber accents remind you of its heritage, especially finished over the paddle shifters. A similar UConnect system shared with the Jeep Grand Cherokee L that I reviewed last week (Link    • 2021 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE L REVIEW - B...  ), with some wonderful touches and an insanely responsive unit. Second row passengers also have plenty of headroom and legroom. Cargo is mostly roomy, except for vertical height due to the sloping rear.

Finally, the drive. The exhaust note has to be mentioned first. Such a unique and exquisite sound that only comes from Italian engineering. Sport mode allows the engine to scream through twists and turns. This may be the very first time that an SUV truly satisfies the “sport car” feeling. Exhilarating acceleration from the 3.0 Twin Turbo V6 producing 424 horsepower and 428 lb/ft. Handling is agile and responsive. Compared to the Porsche Cayenne, Mercedes Benz GLE, and the BMW X5 and X6, this is easily the sportiest and most attractive. Watch the full review to see why this may be the ultimate Luxury Sport SUV.

Special thanks to Maserati of San Diego for making this video possible.
