Setting up a smart home doesn't have to be hard or expensive, you can start with a basic kit and expand as you get accustomed to your devices. In my experience, starting with something small such as a Philips Hue bundle, going through the process of setting it up and leveraging, and then slowly expanding to other devices, is a fantastic approach to avoid being overwhelmed by the tech and the setup complexities.

So I'm gonna give you a tour of the devices that I own and how they
work, I'm gonna put price tags on all of them, so you can see how much I paid; also I'm gonna touch briefly on how to set them up.

My favorite smart device and the one Ithink you should buy first is Philips Hue, a set of light bulbs that can change color. The cool thing about hue is that it'll connect these light bulbs to the internet so you can trigger actions, obviously change their colors, from Siri or Alexa or Google Home; but beyond that you can connect your hue system to an app called IFTTT.

Next up I want to talk about your smart assistants, in this case Alexa. When you have smart devices then a cool way to control them is a device like Alexa. Alexa versus Google home versus the Apple HomePod, that's a big debate, and I haven't gotten my hands on one of the Apple home pods.
