We put Ashanti on the dyno and weighed the MMR water pump pulley and the Steeda billet idler & tensioner pulleys to see if the aftermarket pulleys make any power or weight differences over the stock ones. The scale in the video was set to pounds and ounces. 93 octane fuel was is the fuel in the tank. Nothing was over a pound aside from all the pulleys together, and the stock water pump pulley. We found that one of the claimed "lightweight" pulleys was actually heavier than its stock counter part. The water pump pulley was a 3 bolt since it is a gen 2 coyote. We upgraded the hardware with ARP bolts but it wasn’t necessary and has nothing to do with the testing. Gen 1s came with both 3 and 4 bolt water pumps depending on the year, so it would depend on your exact vehicle and year/model of your gen 1 coyote mustang(11-14). The pulls where done on a dynojet in 5th gear which is the 1:1 gear for 2011-2017 mt82 transmissions. Manual mustangs 2018-2020 have an mt-82 trans as well but they are geared differently so 4th gear would be 1:1. The dyno correction factor was STD smoothing 5. Many modern day autos transmissions are more efficient these days, so the percentages are a rough estimate for you to calculate crank horsepower. The current engine mods on the car that add/support power are down below.
