The nonpartisan Capitol Hill Steering Committee on Pandemic Preparedness and Health Security hosted an in-person fireside chat with Major General (ret.) Paul Friedrichs and Dr. Tom Inglesby about the newly launched White House Office of Pandemic Preparedness and Response Policy. The new office is tasked with preparing the nation for biological threats or pathogens that could lead to a pandemic. Former Senator Burr gave opening remarks.

Dr. Friedrichs, Inaugural Director of the White House Office of Pandemic Preparedness and Response, and Dr. Tom Inglesby, Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, discussed what led to the creation of the new office as well as what pandemic preparedness could look like post-COVID.
